Research confirms that meditation is Good FOR Business.  There is ample scientific evidence that meditation reverses the stress response and induces what Herbert Benson, MD, calls the "relaxation response." Thus, among other benefits, an organization with a workplace meditation program may reduce costs that would have been incurred if the organization had continued to employ chronically stressed workers.

mindfulness enables individuals to be their best
and to do their best work

The extraordinary benefits associated with the practice of meditation for individuals is being studied and confirmed more each day.  In addition to improving physical and emotional health, it is now well-accepted that meditation permits healthy individuals to thrive. Not only does meditation improve attention span and cognitive skills, practicing mindfulness has also been shown to increase an individual's sense of well-being as well as his or her resilience, ability to self-regulate, process stress, reduce reliance on habit, and relate to others. These enhanced abilities permit individuals to develop their positive personal qualities and perform at their peak - even in challenging work environments.

The American Institute of Stress estimates that stress costs American businesses between $200 and $300 billion each year due to:
  • Decreased productivity
  • Increased absenteeism and employee turn-over.
  • Increased accidents
  • Increased insurance, medical and legal costs
  • Increased judgments, as well as workers' compensation awards.
